Description
Under the overall guidance of the Deputy Representative, accountable for the development, design, planning, implementation and management of the Adolescents and HIV/AIDS programme within the country programme; accountable for ensuring that all aspects of the Adolescents and HIV/AIDS programme promote gender equality, with an emphasis on gender disaggregation and gender disparity identification to guide policies, programmes, monitoring and evaluation.
As head of unit, direct, lead and manage a group of professional and support staff to develop, manage and administer the sectoral or inter-sectoral programme, with a view to implement the equity focus and gender mainstreaming across all aspects of the country programme. Qualifications and Competencies
■Advanced university degree in one or more of the disciplines: Public Health, Public Health Administration, Primary Health Care, Pediatrics AIDS, Health Education, Medicine, Social Sciences or a field relevant to international development assistance in HIV/AIDS.
■Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in programme management, monitoring and evaluation, in HIV/AIDS prevention and care activities as well as in youth programming; field work experience and background/familiarity with Emergency would be an asset.
■Advanced knowledge of the latest developments in HIV/AIDS prevention and Care as well as youth programming; advanced knowledge of the latest technology in: Child-maternal health and PMCT of HIV/AIDS; HIV/AIDS health care; Adolescent Development; HIV/AIDS Pandemic preparedness; Infectious diseases control; Behavior change communication.
■Fluency in English (written & spoken).
■Computer skills, including internet navigation and various office applications.
■Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization
